On the 22nd of September 2022, the first meeting with the Italian national and regional stakeholders in the wood and furniture sector was held online. This event has been held in the frame of the “ALLEVIEW – Alliance of Centers of Vocational Excellence in the Furniture and Wood sector” project.
The event, organized by the three Italian partners and specifically: FederLegnoArredo, ASLAM and CEIPES, saw as participants, stakeholders from Lombardy, Piedmont, Marche, Sicily, Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto region.
The Regional Stakeholder Group intends to represent the Italian wood-furniture supply chain through representatives of the business community (companies / intermediate bodies / districts and research centers) and the ones of the VET and HE training’s chain.
In particular, the representatives who were invited to the event are part of the main Italian wood-furniture production districts and of centers of proven excellence for the key figures in the sector: from workers, to technical and managerial executives, to designers, to managers, and so on…
The event took place thanks to a very clear agenda, in which the ALLVIEW project and the European programme to which it refers were introduced at an early stage.
ALLVIEW aims to develop sectoral synergies to encourage the growth of professional training for the wood and furniture sectors and make them more attractive, through the creation of a European network of organizations.
Currently, the consortium of 24 partners from different European countries is halfway through the project and one of the objectives being implemented is the creation of a sectoral platform to facilitate to match companies / training offer and young people interested in pursuing their professional career in the wood and furniture sectors.
During the event, the SWOT analysis produced during the implementation of the first phase of ALLVIEW was shown. From the comparison between the situations of Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Slovenia and Poland some points in common have been extracted. The objective of the meeting, indeed, was to give a more in-depth response to the Italian situation regarding these common evidences.
The evidence emerged from the analysis underlines that the 4 macro-areas of opportunity for the development and competitiveness of the wood-furniture sector are represented by: Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, Assisted living environments, Corporate Social Responsibility / Sustainability and Circular Economy and Technical training for the wood-furniture sector. To all participants have been asked to report their agreement or disagreement with each of the statements considered and then to discuss more in depth about them. Considerable were the reflections that emerged from the debate that gave to birth to numerous thought and actions that can be taken to create a strong network in the reference sector.
The working table will meet twice a year. In the next meeting, the demand / offer exchange platform and the training courses developed by the project will be presented, which will be made available to the participants for the training and the dissemination.
