From the 2nd to the 7th of October 2022 the first Teachers Mobility between KIT Germany and VTI Waregem, Woodwize and VDAB took place in Belgium.
On day 1 there was a workshop at Woodwize in Brussels about digitalization, circular economy, inclusion and safety and well being in the woodsector. In the afternoon a company visit at Rogiers Van Poucke took place in Waregem. Rogiers Van Poucke is a firm specialized in digitalizing machines and software for the woodsector.
The next day the workshops took place at VTI Waregem. There was a demo with the hololens (AR) that consisted of assembly exercises, visualizing building designs and the use of the CNC machine. In the afternoon there was again a company visit, this time to Van Hoecke in Sint-Niklaas, a firm that has already had the title of company of the future for three times and has an eye for circular economy.
On day 3 the journey went to Wondelgem for a workshop at VDAB about CNC woodtraining with the focus on virtual CNC software, simulators and e-learning. In the afternoon there was visit in HOGent, an institute for higher education with a department Bachelor Wood Technology. In the evening there was a cultural visit to the city of Ghent.
Then followed again a workshop at VTI Waregem, this time dedicated to HI Macs, a new and revolutionary product used in interior design. In the afternoon a company visit to Unilin Desselgem was planned. In this firm all kinds of different sheet and roof materials are produced with an emphasis on sustainability.
The last day a visit to FIX, a social enterprise in Brussels that makes wooden interiors was programmed to end this interesting, varied and educational mobility in Belgium.
