Improving Corporate Social Responsibility Practices in the Wood and Furniture Sector: The ALLVIEW Project

Aug 2, 2024

In the frame of the ALLVIEW project we are more than happy to launch with the aim of improving corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices in the wood and furniture sector the follwing report. This report presents the structured approach and results achieved so far within Work Package 4, Task 4, specifically focused on CSR.

According to the project’s guidelines, it is essential to monitor the project’s impact through various key performance indicators (KPIs), with clearly defined short and long-term objectives. The project’s strategic approach involves introducing CSR to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the sector, particularly those with little or no prior knowledge of the topic, to maximize the project’s educational impact.

Each partner involved in Task 4.4 organized a preliminary national workshop to introduce the project and the associated training course. These workshops were fundamental in identifying interested participants and selecting one or two companies for the coaching phase. Potential companies were identified through the workshops themselves and through the partners’ knowledge of the sector, focusing on those already considering or implementing CSR activities. To support this process, WIC, the partner activity leader, prepared a cover letter that partners could use to approach potential companies. This letter provided essential information about the workshop and coaching phase of the project, facilitating the companies’ involvement. Each partner then provided WIC with the names of one or two selected companies to participate in the coaching phase. The target group for the entire process included SMEs in the wood and furniture sector. The focus was on companies with little or no previous knowledge of CSR to maximize the project’s educational impact.

This report provides a comprehensive overview of the workshops held in various countries and by different organizations, the results achieved, and the detailed methodology that will be used for the coaching phase.

Also this result represents a significant step towards improving corporate social responsibility practices in the wood and furniture sector, providing SMEs with the tools and knowledge necessary to effectively adopt and implement CSR in their daily operations.
